STUDENTS CATEGORY & TRAINING METHODS

We have students with following disabilities:

  1. MR (Mental Retardation):   Also known as intellectual disability  (ID), is characterized by below-average intelligence or mental ability and a lack of skills necessary for day-to-day living. People with intellectual disabilities can and do learn new skills, but they learn slowly. There are varying degrees of intellectual disability, from mild to profound.
  2. CP (Cerebral Palsy): A condition marked by impaired muscle coordination (spastic paralysis) and/or other disabilities, typically caused by damage to the brain before or at birth.
  3. DS (Down Syndrome) : A congenital disorder arising from a chromosome defect, causing intellectual impairment and physical abnormalities including short stature and a broad facial profile. It arises from a defect involving chromosome 21, usually an extra copy (trisomy-21).
  4. Autism: a developmental disorder of variable severity that is characterized by difficulty in social interaction and communication and by restricted or repetitive patterns of thought and behaviour.

Children of age group 5 to 30 years are undergo training here.  On the basis of their disability and IQ level they are divided in to four groups as.

  1. Primary (A)
  2. Primary (B)
  3. Secondary (A)
  4. Secondary (B)

For Primary (A) and Primary (B) students we are providing Activities of Daily Living Skills (ADLS) training that includes:

  1. Gross motor activities
  2. Fine motor activities
  3. Meal time activities
  4. Grooming
  5. Dressing
  6. Toileting
  7. Receptive language
  8. Social interaction

For Secondary (A) and Secondary (B) students we are providing basic academic training such as:

  1. Reading
  2. Writing
  3. Money Concept
  4. Number Concept
  5. Time Concept
  6. Domestic activities
  7. Community orientation
  8. Recreation, Leisure time activities
  9. Computer Basic Education for able students (Data Entry Training)
  10. Vocational training

Along with basic academic skill development the students are provided vocational training such as Preparing flowers with cloth, preparing foot mat, making envelops and medicals covers. Along with curricular activities, training in co-curricular activities are also provided which includes Yoga, Dance, Music, Kitchen Gardening, etc.
